Beginner:
You may have taken a sewing class a long time ago but don’t remember much, or you may have no experience sewing whatsoever. Or, you’ve played around with a sewing machine but want to know more about threading, tension, sewing machine attachments, and how to sew a straighter seam.
Advanced Beginner:
You know how to thread your machine, sew a straight seam, finish and press it, turn corners and backstitch. You might have pattern experience.
Intermediate:
You know how to thread your machine, sew a straight seam, finish and press it, turn corners, how to follow basic pattern instructions, cut out a basic garment and create a rolled hem. Knowledge of buttons and buttonholes, hook and eyes, interfacing and zipper insertion is helpful.
Advanced:
You know how to sew a straight seam, turn corners, finish, and press a seam, as well as how to follow pattern instructions, cut out and construct garments including pants, jackets, shirts, dresses and coats, as well as various tailoring, hemming and seam finishing techniques, and zipper insertion.
