A reconstructed sweater made from 3 different sweaters! It’s not hard to work with knits, they just require a few different techniques.

The dress on the left was copied from a vintage slip on the right
The great thing about copying a garment is you know that it fits you from the beginning–few alterations are required to perfect the fit.

I made this reconstructed sweater from an oversized sweater with a big cowl. Added a few strips of wool to give it structure, some buttonholes and buttons, and voila! A cozy new sweater jacket! Check out my post on Burda Patterns!

I made this Poppy Doll for a client recently. How cute is she? You can buy the pattern from Hop Skip Jump patterns.

My first baby quilt, made for my niece Cara. I love bright color!

A simple and summery green frock.

A tweed jacket I made from Mccalls Pattern M5759. I shortened the sleeves because I liked the 3/4 length better.

Close-up of the lining. I used silk charmeuse that had a lot of orange in the pattern which I didn’t like, so I dyed it pink. The buttons were inherited from a friend’s mother’s stash.

A dress made from Vogue Pattern 8413. Love the 60’s styling and cowl neckline–very Mad Men! It might be out of print (can’t find it on their website), but V8630 is similar.

A denim cape I made from a pattern I downloaded from Burda Style. Unfortunately the pattern is no longer available, but you can download free and inexpensive patterns there, as well as post photos of projects of your own!
